SYNCHRONIZED SKATING REGIONALS COME TO WINGS STADIUM THIS WEEKEND
Kalamazoo, MI- The Wings Stadium Complex, which is home to The Annex and The Cube, announce the complex will be hosting the 2013 Midwestern/Pacific Coast Synchronized Skating Championships this Friday, January 25th-Saturday, January 26th.
With over 2,700 skaters, representing nearly 200 teams, set to take the ice, this weekend’s competition will be largest competition in the entire United States.
Hosted by the Greater Kalamazoo Skating Association the winners of this Untied States Figure Skating sanctioned competition will compete in the national competition from February 27 to March 2, 2013 in Plymouth, Michigan.
There will be 13 different levels represented this weekend and the event will also have local ties, as five local teams (Kalamazoo Kinetic – Pre-juvenile team, Kalamazoo Kinetic – Open Juvenile team, Western Michigan University – Collegiate team, Western Michigan University – Senior team and Western Michigan University Alumni – Adult team) will take the ice this weekend looking to make nationals.
The competition will run from 7 a.m.-10 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday. Tickets for the event are $25 for a single-day pass and $45 for a two-day pass. Kids five and under are FREE.

Stadium Management Company owns the Wings Stadium Complex, the Kalamazoo Wings hockey team, Wings West and the Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings hockey team. The Wings Stadium Complex is comprised of three buildings; Wings Stadium seats more than 5,100 fans for K-Wings home games and more than 6,000 people for concerts and other stage events. The Annex seats 1,367 for ice events and can hold up to 2,850 for non-ice events such as car, boat, and trade shows. The Cube plays host to both ice and non-ice events. Wings West is comprised of two ice sheets plus Old Burdick’s Restaurant at Wings West. The Borgess Ice Rink can accommodate more than 1,200 fans for Jr. K-Wings games. The Olympic Rink plays host to both ice and non-ice events. Both facilities are available for rental and feature numerous catering and meeting opportunities.
