Preparing for his first full season as a professional, Friesen joins the K-Wings after finishing last season in the ECHL with the Idaho Steelheads. Before heading to Idaho, Friesen was a four-year standout at Minnesota State University, where he majored in International Business.

Friesen also played two seasons of junior hockey in the USHL for the Sioux Falls Stampede.
