Kalamazoo, MI- Wings Stadium, which is also home to The Annex and The Cube and home of the 2010 USA Curling National Championships," announces staff members of the complex will be around southwest Michigan this weekend to promote the upcoming curling national championships.
Later today, the Wings Stadium and Discover Kalamazoo will be on the campus of Western Michigan University at Bronco Bash from 3-8 p.m.
Tomorrow, the complex will showcase everything it has to offer during an open house from 4-7 p.m.
During this three hour extravaganza, people can try their skill at FREE public skating, learn to curl with the Kalamazoo Curling Club, witness figure skating demonstrations with the Southwest Michigan Skating Club, and participate in tours of the building.
People looking for information about user groups of Wings Stadium will also want to attend this event. The Southwest Michigan High School Hockey League and the Killamazoo Derby Darlins will have tables with information about their exciting upcoming seasons.
Fans of the K-Wings do not want to miss this opportunity to visit on September 12th. Not only will Kalamazoo’s favorite mascot, Slappy, be available for pictures, fans can also get information about K-Wings Kidz, and the Frequent Flyers Club for Teens.
Fans will also be able to reserve their seats for the upcoming K-Wings’ season with the team’s annual Pick-a-Seat Extravaganza.
On the topic of tickets, don’t be left in the cold, as the open house will give you the opportunity to purchase seats for the USA Curling Nationals, which will be coming to Kalamazoo and the Wings Stadium Complex March 6th-13th.

While all the activities at this event will surely make you hungry, Wings Stadium has you covered, not only can you learn about Wings Stadium Catering, you will be able to sample concession and catering items. This open house will showcase everything Wings Stadium has to offer and could also help you find the perfect pet. Just like they do during K-Wings games, the SPCA of Southwest Michigan will have dogs available for adoption.
Helping to set the tone for this three-hour action packed event, will be WZUU, which will be on hand for a live radio remote from 4-6 p.m.
On Sunday, Wings Stadium and the K-Wings will head to the Paw Paw Wine Festival Parade, which starts at noon. Staff members and Kalamazoo’s favorite mascot, Slappy, will be handing out curling national magnets. The parade will also be the debut of the K-Wings’ new KC’s Auto Land Freestar.
Stadium Management Company owns both the Wings Stadium Complex and the Kalamazoo Wings hockey team. The Wings Stadium Complex is comprised of three buildings; Wings Stadium seats more than 5,100 fans for K-Wings home games and more than 8,000 people for concerts and other stage events. The Annex seats 1,367 for ice events and can seat up to 2,850 for non-ice events such as car, boat, and trade shows. The Cube is the newest of the three facilities and plays host to both ice and non-ice events. All three buildings are available for rental and feature numerous catering and meeting opportunities.
